Clearances around the four sides of a fire door leaf are essential – it’s the only way the door can operate effectively. But these clearances create a point of weakness, which fire will readily exploit, if left un-sealed these gaps allow lethal smoke and hot gases to flow through unimpeded.

Lorient’s range of intumescent seals protect these clearances. In the event of fire the intumescent core expands 5-8 times its original size sealing the gap and providing an effective barrier to fire and hot smoke.

Most of the intumescent seals shown in this section are multi-functional as they incorporate integral smoke seals - offering comprehensive protection against fire, ambient and elevated temperature smoke.
